Words become paint

A transparent four-stage pipeline you can tune end to end.

Ink measurement

Every glyph is rasterised and its stroke coverage measured — a real perceived density, not a hard-coded lookup table.

Shade ordering

Characters are sorted by ink into a light-to-dark ramp. It works the same way for Chinese, Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic or Kana.

Area-average resampling

Two-pass separable box filtering: identical results in every browser, and fully unit-testable.

Dithering

Floyd–Steinberg and ordered dithering remove banding even when the prompt only yields five shades.

Words become paint

The same artwork is repainted from scratch with the characters of your own language — the pigments change, the picture stays.
